A professional environmental assessment can be an extremely valuable tool to help a homeowner or business owner determine the health of their indoor air as well as the potential for health effects due to germs, molds, yeasts, chemicals or allergy-causing contaminants. A professional will look for sources of moisture intrusion that could promote the growth of molds and fungii, as well as check the HVAC systems and other possible areas that can become a source for air quality issues. Both the air and surfaces in the environment are tested so a complete picture can be taken of the overall health.
Assessments may include air sampling for general particle presence indicating mold spores, pollens, dustmites, skin cells, yeast, bacteria and other floating type air contaminants. These are noted and counted in a lab analysis. The viability can be specially sampled for living microorganisms if desired. Pictures of the incubated cultures can be sent by request. This is often a good way to compare before and after results if any sanitization or remediation protocols are recommended and implemented.
Surface samples can be done with swabs, tape-lifts, dust collection, and bulk testing (ie a piece of carpet) to determine types of contaminant and counts. We also now offer an affordable instant biological screening that can let us know if any surface tested has an abnormally high degree of biological activity from molds, bacteria, virus etc. This enables us to give a higher definition assessment and cut down on some of the lab expenses.
Along with samples sent to the lab for analysis, there are readings done on site with moisture meters, relative humidity and temperature, cameras/boroscopes, airflow meters, CO meters, and other instruments to determine possible sources of contaminants or moisture.
Our certified professionals will do a complete assessment, send the samples to a certified lab, and then put together a very comprehensive written report for you. This report will include any recommendations we may have for you to improve the health of your environment. We are a complete natural solutions-based assessment company and our goal is to help you achieve the best indoor environmental health for you and your family/co-workers.
Cost of Assessments will vary depending on size of structure, depth of investigation needed, number of lab samples taken and other factors. We will do our best to give you a "ballpark" figure by phone once we can ask you some questions about your environment.
