Pippin Home Designs Case Study

Pippin Home Designs Project Live Green

This GREEN home building project started from an existing structure and added two levels above with very innovative construction techniques.  During construction, storm waters flooded the existing lower level and caused mold contamination. Environmental Services Group Carolinas (Pure Solutions) was called to do the assessments and sanitization of the contaminated environments. Test results showed fungal contamination throughout all three levels.  Green sanitization chemicals were used to directly treat the visible growth.  Special active air purification technology was installed in the HVAC systems (four of them) during construction.  Once these were activated with the air system, continuous treatment of fungal mold growth and other biologicals began, along with particle reduction and chemical (VOC) control. Post testing was done and test results were amazingly clear of contaminants. It is interesting to note that the home was occupied by 3 people, 2 dogs and 5 cats at the time of the post testing.
